Apollo Power has announced certification for a lightweight flexible photovoltaic module. This is a general PV technology update, not a solar-pump deployment, but low-mass modules may be relevant where a pump house, tank roof or mobile water unit cannot support conventional glass modules.
Certification is the beginning of qualification
Buyers still need the exact standard, certified model, power tolerance, fire behaviour, wind attachment method, cable system and expected degradation. Flexible construction does not remove the need for secure mounting and electrical protection.
Compare the complete pumping system
The module choice must support the controller's voltage window and the pump's seasonal duty. Conventional ground-mounted modules may remain simpler and more economical when land is available, so lightweight PV should be selected for a real structural or mobility constraint.
