Free Solar Water Pump Sizing Calculator
Enter your total head (vertical lift + pipe friction, in metres) and the flow you need (daily water ÷ ~6 peak sun hours, in m³/h) — the calculator instantly shortlists matching models from all 209 Aquasolar pumps, with a built-in 1.2× safety margin, the recommended PV array and cable size for each.
How do I work out my total head?
Total head = vertical distance from the water level to the highest outlet, plus pipe friction (roughly 10% extra for typical runs). For boreholes, measure from the drawdown water level, not the borehole depth.
How do I work out the flow I need?
Divide your daily water requirement by the local peak sun hours (about 6 in most sunny regions). A farm needing 30 m³ per day therefore needs a pump delivering about 5 m³/h.
Is the result a final selection?
It is a shortlist with a built-in 1.2× safety margin. Our engineers confirm the final model against the full performance curve, your water quality and your solar resource — free of charge, within 24 hours.
