Which solar pump do I need for a 20 m borehole?
Your total head is the vertical lift from the water level (not the borehole depth) to the outlet, plus pipe friction. How many solar panels does the pump need?
Size the PV array to roughly 1.3–1.5× the pump’s rated power. Every model below lists its recommended array, and each datasheet includes the panel string configuration and MPPT voltage window.
Does it need batteries?
No. The pump runs directly from the panels through an MPPT controller and you store water in a tank instead of electricity — lower cost, nothing to replace.
